Virgen De Chapi Festival
This deeply religious festival is centred around the Virgen de Chapi who is also known as the Virgin of Purification who is honoured in great style with hundreds of pilgrims walking many kilometers through the night to reach her sanctuary.

The pilgrims who make this arduous pilgrimage often carry candles which are lit up all around her in an impressive display. There is a procession where the image of the virgen who is beautifully decorated is carried over a path laid with flower petals and carpets.

During the festival there is plenty of traditional cuisine on offer and the evening is often rounded off with an impressive firework display.
