Isabela Island
The largest island found within the Galapagos was named after Queen Isabella of Spain and contains several species of Tortoise and Iguanas, six volcano's and the Sierra Negra Volcanic Crater which is the second largest in the world.

Walking around the island is one of the best ways to enjoy the varied terrain whilst getting close to the wildlife. the island offers superb views especially from the Sierra Negra Volcano which is the highest one and offers a chance to get up close to the wildlife along with enjoying the varied terrain.

The settlement of Puerto Villamil is located on the south east coast of the island and is a popular stopping point for private boats which regularly fill up the harbour. The area also has a colony of Galapagos Penguins and the nearby wetlands contain several mangrove swamps and lagoons where sea birds and turtles thrive.
