Tijuca National Park, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
The Tijuca National Park contains many plants, trees, waterfalls, landmarks and absolutely stunning views of the city and surrounding areas such as Sugar Loaf, Maracana, Copacabana and Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas.

Within the Tijuca National Park you can visit the Christ Redeemer Statue which is at the top of Corcovado Mountain within the National Park and also the large rock known as Pedra da Gavea is well worth a view as the granite rock shows the image of a human face, although it is uncertain if the face was carved into the rock or if the face is a result of natural erosion.

Guided tours and jeep tours of the park are available and allow you to enjoy all the many different areas that the park has to offer.

As well as taking a tour or walking within the National Park you can also rock climb up Pedra da Gavea or para glide off the area close to it.
