Fiscal Island which is also known as Ilha Fiscal is located on Guanbara Bay and is well known for the green palace or Palacio da Ilha Fiscal which was built by Emperor Dom Pedro II and designed by Adolfo del Vecchio which takes up most of the tiny Island.

The Island is also famous for holding the last Royal Ball on 8th of November 1889 which was the last one of its kind as Brazil became a Republic shortly afterwards. Fiscal Island and palace now offer guided tours around the facility where you can enjoy the interior design of the well restored Palace.
