Sydney Running Festival
The annual Running Festivals has opportunities for a wide range of abilities due to a number of competitions that range from the gruelling full marathon to the half and 9 kilometer run, allowing the event to attract both local and international athletes to this prestigious event.

The full marathon covers a distance of 26.21 miles and takes competitors around some of the cities most well known landmarks and beauty spots, such as The Rocks, Circular Quay, Hyde Park, past the Royal Botanic Gardens to Mrs Macquaries Chair and then towards the impressive Sydney Opera House where many of the races finish.

The Half Marathon covers a distance of 13 miles and attracts tough competition with the course also taking in many areas of interest such as Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

Other events include the shorter Bridge Run which is about 5.59 miles long and the Family Fun Run which is approximately 2.5 miles both proving to be popular events which open up the competition to a much wider range of age groups and abilities.

There are plenty of viewing areas along the way allowing you the opportunity to cheer on competitors and take in some of Sydney's most scenic areas.

This annual event changes date each year.

The various races often start at Milsons Point and finish at the Opera House, passing through several of Sydney's most impressive landmarks.
