Feast of the Immaculate Conception (La Inmaculada Concepcion)
This Roman Catholic festival is in celebration of the Immaculate conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and is widely celebrated throughout the country.

Many people of Granada will take time out of there busy schedules to spend time with family and to attend Holy Mass as well as watch or participate with religious processions that take place through the city, where statues of the Virgin Mary are carried high on beautifully prepared litters adorned with flowers and candles and accompanied by marching bands.

Many shops and businesses will be closed during the event, although you'll find that most cafes and restaurants will remain open as dining out is great way for many to enjoy there public holiday and spend time with family and friends.

This annual festival is a public holiday that takes place on the 8th of December.

There are many processions held throughout the city especially close to the Cathedral.
