Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor
The Neo Gothic Expiatory Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a Roman Catholic church that was consecrated in 1952 and takes pride of place at the very top of Mount Tibidabo overlooking the city.

The building was designed by Enric Sagnier i Villavecchia a Catalan architect whose works in Barcelona also include the Palau de Justicia and the Caixa de Pensions building and was completed by his son Josep Maria Sagnier i Vidal. One of the building's most notable features is the large statue of Jesus that is centrally located at the top of the building.

The interior of the church is beautifully lit with several stained glass windows and the main alter features a crucifix that was designed Joan Puigdollers. There are statues and carved reliefs throughout the interior as well as mosaics on the walls adding to the beauty of the church, which is also often illuminated at night.

The crypt is equally as decorative with sculptures, colourful mosaics and carved reliefs and it is also possible to access the top of this beautiful church which offers breathtaking views of Barcelona.

Also situated on Mount Tibidabo is the popular and long standing Tibidabo Amusement Park which has a good selection of rides and street theatre for all the family.

The Sagrat Cor is located on the top of Mount Tibidabo to the northwest of the city.
