Placa Reial
The Placa Reial is a popular square that is well positioned just off the pedestrian boulevard of La Rambla which is so well known for its shops and attractions such as artists and the entertaining Human Statues.

The square is surrounded by buildings which contain curved arches and is the location of plenty of cafes and restaurants whose tables and parasols are a welcome break and a chance to sit back and enjoy the architecture that surrounds you and the squares many other features.

Within the middle of the square is a circular fountain which is surrounded by palm trees and lanterns that were designed by famous architect Antonio Gaudi who's works also include Casa Mila, Casa Batllo, Guell Park and the Sagrada Familia.

In the evening the square becomes a great hive of activity as there are many popular bars and nightclubs nearby making the square a popular meeting place.

The Placa Reial is located about 50 meters to the east of La Rambla which connects the Columbus Monument which is close to Port Vell to the popular Placa Catalunya.

Travel Guide
There are several busses that travel along the side of La Rambla (14, 59, N9, N12 and N15) and subway station Liceu (Line 3) is also along this route.
