Barcelona Beaches
There are several miles golden sands and superb waters within a short distance from the city's thriving city centre here are some of the most popular:

Barceloneta beach
Located just the other side of the Port Vell marina is this popular beach which extends along to the Frank Gehry's Peix structure which is from where the Icaria beach then begins. The beach has several cafes along the shore and plenty of sun loungers, parasols, lockers and showers for hire. The sea here is great for swimming as well as other sports such as windsurfing, surfing, kite surfing and beach volleyball. There are also lifeguards often present along Barceloneta beach.

Mar Bella Beach
Marbella beach tends to be a little quieter than Barceloneta and also has a great stretch of soft sand and inviting waters, there are amenities such as parasols and sun loungers for hire as well as showers and kiosks, cafes and restaurants also found along this beautiful stretch, one end of the beach is also popular with nudists. The beach also offers activities such as volleyball, table tennis and a children's play area and the chance to enjoy some water sports as well.

Sant Sebastia Beach
This beautiful stretch of beach offers plenty of sporting activities such as beach volleyball, tennis and table tennis and there is also a children's play area as well as facilities such as sun loungers, parasols, lockers, toilets and food and drink kiosks, there are also cafes and restaurants close to the promenade.

Bogatell Beach
Bogatell Beach was created for the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games and offers a relatively quiet stretch of beach with all the amenities such as children's play area, showers, toilets, sun loungers and food and drink kiosks and beach activities such as volleyball.

Icaria Beach
Located next to Barceloneta, Icaria is a very popular stretch of beach especially with families as it offers plenty of amenities and beach activities. Facilities include showers, sun loungers and parasols and there are also plenty of kiosks along the beach front selling drinks and ice creams as well as a good selection of restaurants and cafes. Icaria beach also offers the opportunity to windsurf, play beach volleyball, table tennis or go sailing.
