Old Town Square, Prague, Czech Republic
Old Town Square (Staromestske namesti) is situated in the very heart of Old Town and is surrounded by many of Prague's well known historic buildings such as the Baroque Church of St Nicholas (Kostel sv. Mikulase), the Gothic Church of Our Lady Before Tyn, the Golz-Kinsky Palace (Palac Goltz-Kinskych), the Astronomical Clock (Prazsky Orloj) and the Town Hall (Staromestska radnice).

In the very centre of the square is the Jan Hus Memorial statue which was placed there in 1915 to mark the anniversary of the Hussite reformer's death some 500 years earlier.

There are many shops, cafe's and restaurant's around Old Town Square where you can sit down, relax and enjoy the magnificent view that Old Town Square has to offer. There are often many crowds gathered outside the Astronomical clock from which famously springs Christ and his 12 apostles into action on the hour.

Old Town Square is located in Prague's Old Town, roughly in between Charles Bridge to the west and Powder Gate (Prasna brana)and Municipal House (Obecni dum) cultural centre to the east.
