Prague International Marathon
This prestigious marathon was founded in 1995 and is set within the beautiful city of Prague attracting local and international runners from around the world.

The marathon covers a distance of 42.195 kilometers which in 2010 was completed in the men's competition in an impressive time of 2:07:07. There are also other events taking place such as the half marathon and mini marathon, opening up the event to a wide range of ages and abilities.

The course takes competitors around various areas of the city, starting off with the historic Old Town Square where the race begins and travelling past areas such as the Old Jewish Cemetery, Powder Gate, Vysehrad and the Rudolfinum Concert Hall, with the events finish back in Old Town Square which is also home to the famous time keeper the Astronomical Clock.

The marathon takes place annually, often towards the beginning of May.

The city of Prague is where the event takes place and the start is often in Old Town Square.

Travel Guide
Prague has a efficient public transport network that includes trams, metro and busses as well as plenty of taxis to take you to or from your destination. Old Town Square is around 400 meters east of the Staromestska Metro station (Green A line), alternatively trams 17 and 18 also stop at Staromestska.
