Tangiers is a vibrant and entertaining city with plenty going on especially at night when the city seems to really come alive with its bars, nightclubs and casino's.

Tangier has plenty of modern and classic Moroccan architecture that has been gathered over several centuries of the cities colourful history as well as plenty of natural coastal beauty that is rich in mythology.

The summer months in Tangiers are very warm with temperatures rising to as high as 75 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

During the winter months temperatures often average between 35 and 45 degrees Fahrenheit with the months of November through to March also receiving the highest rainfall.

Around the Grand Socco square are several cafe's offering a good selection of Moroccan cuisine and a great opportunity to people watch.

In the more modern areas of the city you will find an interesting selection of restaurants and fare which varies from traditional Moroccan restaurants offering dishes such as Tajines, fresh fish and seafood to restaurants offering diners a more modern setting with European styled food.

The city is also home to plenty of luxury hotels and Riads, as well as bars and nightclubs many of which can be found along the seafront and varying in standards, quality and price, but all thriving none the less and can keep you entertained well into the early hours.

The Grand Socco Market used to be a hive of shopping activity, but now it has become more of a taxi rank and meeting point for its local inhabitants. It is within the Grand Socco area that the modern city blends into the old city and where you will find all the traditional classic narrow streets, interesting architecture and a wide range of souks and shops where you can purchase anything from fresh fruit and vegetables to carpets, arts and crafts.

Music and film festivals are the most popular events that take place in Tangiers, attracting a wide variety of spectators.
