Majorelle Gardens, Marrakech, Morocco
The Majorelle Garden was designed by Jacques Majorelle, a well known French artist in 1924.

The exotic garden is expertly landscaped and features a superb collection of rare flora that are uniquely set amongst bright blue buildings, fountains and bridges which contain plenty of well placed colourful detailing throughout.

After Majorelle died the garden was purchased by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge who restored it to its former glory and added a museum called the Islamic Art Museum which contains pieces from Majorelle's personnel art collection and items from Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge.

The botanical garden now also contains the scattered ashes of Yves Saint Laurant who died in 1980.

Attraction Location Guide
The gardens are located in the centre of Marrakech with good transport links and plenty of taxi's in the area.
