The modern National Cultural Centre at Cairo Opera House was established in 1988 and is the perfect setting for bringing together a wide range of music and art of a National and International level.

The Opera House often has a wide range of performances on offer such as classical music from the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, various music recitals, as well as ballet performances, choirs and dance shows.

There are 7 different theatres on site which all vary in size from the Main Hall which is the largest and is able to offer 1200 seats while several of the smaller theatres offer a more intimate experience, there is also a modern open air theatre.

There are several companies which are fully registered with the National Cultural Centre at Cairo Opera House and who hold regular performances, such as the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, The Cairo Ballet Company, The Cairo Opera Company and the National Arabic Music Ensemble.

The site has a restaurant and the Nile Art Gallery within the grounds.

Attraction Location Guide
The Opera House is located on Gezira Island around 4 kilometers to the Southwest of Cairo's city centre and can be reached via the 6th October Bridge.
